2 in 1 Series

Shooting of a white abstract painting is carried out and the photograph is printed back on the same white abstract painting. A combination of painting and photography is being realized – a 2 in 1 of figurativeness and abstractness. (In the 2 in 1 series, I start by painting a white abstract painting using textured, impasto brushstrokes. Afterwards I harshly light the painting so that the light hits the surface unevenly. After taking a photograph of this harshly lit painting, I print the image back onto the original painting. The layering of the photography and the painted image creates an illusion of this harsh lighting, forever illuminating the painting. Although the two images are both reality, together they make the viewer question what is real. The work deceives the eye (Trompe L’oeil).)
