Introduction

Zhang Ga

From the 2015 exhibition Tonight I Shall Meditate on That Which I Am to this mid-career survey, Wang Yuyang extends his investigation of multiple subjectivities across the geological, the microbial and everything in between.

Chaosmosis draws on Guattari’s term for the fluid interplay of order and disorder. Sculpture, installation, interaction and scenario juxtapose ancient ice, synthetic biology, artificial intelligence and robotic sleepwalking as different times and spaces emerge and dissolve.
