Iliyana NedkovaWormhole uses the cosmic idea of a passage through space-time to connect the artist’s persistent doubts about mass media with his interest in obsolete and discarded technologies. Five works were adapted to specific public areas of Perth Horsecross for their first presentation in the UK.

A shot-by-shot restaging of the 1969 moon-landing footage combines copied images, props and a science-display environment to question historical truth.

Brain activity generated while imagining an impossible project is stored in an ordinary battery, making consciousness unreadable yet usable energy.

Ten thousand energy-saving lamps form a four-metre sphere, producing a cold white artificial moon in a public cultural space.

Household dust enlarged under an electron microscope resembles a cosmic landscape, overlapping macro and micro scales in perception.

Cassette tapes record the sound of their own manufacture and replay it in the gallery, gaining the right to narrate their own experience.
